No Shave November – Men’s Health Awareness Month

No Shave November, also know as Noshember or Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches and beards during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues. Conditions such as depression in men, prostate cancer and other male cancers, often go undiagnosed or a late diagnoses because men are 70%* less likely to seek medical treatment than women. The Movember Foundation runs the Movember charity event, housed at with the goal of Movember to “change the face of men’s health”. Another non-profit No-Shave November shares a similar goal, “A Unique Way to Grow Cancer Awareness”.

By encouraging men to get other men involved, Movember aims to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths. Besides annual check-ups, the Movember Foundation encourages men to be aware of family history of cancer and to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Men can help support the cause by participating in No-Shave November and donating their money they would usually spend on razors, shaving cream, and grooming to the charity of their choice.
